Interview with GM Dragonas

Ex-GM Dragonas was interviewed by our ex-staff member and Newshawk Necro Gardius.

Tibianews: Hello readers, here we are with Dragonas the new gamemaster, he was appointed a few days ago and was kindlyenough to accept an interview Hello Dragonas.

Dragonas: Hello Tibianews.

Tibianews: First of all, the big and most important question, how did you descover Tibia?

Dragonas: Oh...I started playing back in 2001. I decided to do a little search for some online games and Tibia popped up.

Tibianews: 2001! Wow you can say you are an oldschool player! And in old these years, what motivate you to keep on playing?

Dragonas : Well, I've never been much of a power gamer or trainer and always enjoyed to play in my own way. So I guess I never really got burnt out as some do when they are constantly thinking about the next hunt or magic level.

Tibianews: Ahhh, we also saw that you are the leader of the mighty and well-known guild Rising Dragons Amera. You must be very proud. What can you tell our readers about your guild?

Dragonas: The Amera branch of the Rising Dragons has existed since 2002 and is the oldest guild currently on Amera. I couldn't ask for a better group of people to associate myself with. We are more like a family than a guild.

Tibianews: And now a very common question, What did you feel when you were told that they had a blue cape for you?

Dragonas: It was an honor to know they considered me up to the responsibility of being a Gamemaster. Whenever CIP appoints anew GM they place a lot of trust in that player's hands.

Tibianews: And your first day! How was it?

Dragonas: Extremely busy just learning the ropes and creating all the GM characters. The second part was a long job in and of itself. All in all it was about what I expected.

Tibianews: Ahahaha must've been really boring to create 72 characters and then hide the information. In all your tibian life, did you expected you would achieve something of this magnitude?

Dragonas: I never really gave it much thought or expected I would ever be asked. Actually, for quite awhile if asked I most likely would have turned it down. However, when it came to it I figured that as I have enjoyed Tibia for many years and thought I could handle the responsibilities there was no reason not to give it a shot.

Tibianews: Do you like the way this game is developing every year? What do you think of the updates lately?

Dragonas: Well the amount of new features and content introduced seems to grow with every update. I don't think anyone who really thinks about it could have a problem with that. Of course some might have problems with certain new features, but unfortunately with a growing community changes will always be needed that will not be accepted by every player.

Tibianews: This question might sound strange to you but.... Do you think the GM outfit is male or female?

Dragonas: Hrmm...the question that has escaped answer for years. I'll just take the safe road and say it looks about halfway inbetween. Wouldn't want to offend any of my lovely female colleagues.

Tibianews: Ahhhh of course And a question many of our reader might be asking: Why didn't you hide your identity?

Dragonas: Considering that I have been suspected of being one in the past I figured it would come out rather quickly if my account info suddenly became hidden. And if people are to think I am a Gamemaster I figured they may as well know exactly which one.

Tibianews: Well, now the rumors are true and you got the cape How did that affected your tibian life?

Dragonas: Not much of a difference yet other than a lot more random messages. It has only been a little over a day so it might be hard to judge so soon.

Tibianews: Have you made any big GM-mistake already?

Dragonas: Thankfully no...I am making sure to take it quite easy during my first days so I don't burn out or make any such errors. It's a good idea not to try and single handedly change the world.

Tibianews: How long you were a tutor before getting the cape?

Dragonas: I became a tutor a few months after the system was introduced.

Tibianews: Well, thank you for taking the time to make this interview possible Thank you very much and good luck with you Gamemaster career.

Dragonas: Thank you and take care.
