I don't know, but medicine gets about ten times the students. Informatics, at least the bachelor I've taken, has existed for 10-15 years. There's nothing about the future in it, we code on paper for exams (yes, we do learn to code on computers, but the exam is still done on paper) and it's just that far from us learning to program machines with hole punchers (like they did before they had a keyboard).

If you want a future-aimed education in computers, you have to attend a private school.

It's been ages since I've been on TibiaNews and I have to say that I really miss the old days! Feels good to post once again...

I finished secondary school and am studying to become a teacher of Physical Education. I quit Tibia a long time ago, recently had an idea in my head to start playing again but I probably won't because I lost all my old Hibernian friends. My real life is going fine at the moment. I keep going out, visit concerts, party damn hard, work out, hang out with my friends, .. all the good stuff

Don't forget that they also help the artists become famous in the first place. I'm pretty sure being an artist without a team behind you is much harder than it sounds like.

I actually want to start out as an A&R Coordinator, scouting bands and trying to get them signed. I'm not too into stealing their money and all, but more into getting music heard. That's what I kind of do now, anyway. :p

What are you suggesting as a contrary to the current music industry? Myspace?

artists taking care of what music industry does themself would benefit them more even if they would have to hire some people to do the contacting since they would be getting the 100% profit isntead of 5% they get now.

If they hire people they wouldn't get 100% of the profit.
Distributing a famous album is very hard, takes a lot of work and requires a capital.
The most common alternative after getting signed by a big label is to distribute your works through the Internet. Free, if you wish. Platforms as these are available everywhere, from Youtube to Amazon.
Any profit driven person would chose to put his music under his own record label if it was as simple as that. The real question is when, and if, there are record labels which limit and parasite the music creator/industry.
