ye for me it always opened in a new tab aswell.. but not anymore so i use the scroll thingy now (if i dont forget it)

Aye, I open in new tabs as well.. but a normal click opens in same window.. and that's how it has always been.
Or .. actually, I think that's the difference between using the tags and not:

Using them opens in new window with IE, or a new tab with Opera/FF. Just writing the URL will make a link that opens in same window (unless you force it to open in new window/tab).
But it still hasn't changed.


I've heard ShoutBoxes take a lot of bandwidth / slows down the forums dramatically.

What I really don't like right now about the new forum is that when I click a link, it doens't pop up in a new window. I got so used to that, that I'm now clicking this window away... and so the forum.
Especially with pictures its much easier. I agree its not easier when clicking on a thread link or something.

Could you fix that ?

Personally, I don't see why everyone should be forced to get a window/tab opened when they click a link. You can have the option to ctrl-click the link so it'll open in a new tab/window and people who want to keep moving along can just click stuff. I see no reason to change it.

Choose your flavor. I'm sure you can find ctrl on your keyboard (strf or something for a German keyboard). But the middle mousebutton works too.

Thanks for that but I already have firefox or internet explorer and its not working with ctrl. Thats why I said 'i would like to have....' because you said 'You can have the option to ctrl-click the link so it'll open in a new tab/window' . Like you could enable that option...

You are proposing thingies that quite a few people already have made for a long time. (not in this topic tough)

Anyway, an arcade would be fun! + a chatbox!
The gabbly we used was very populair so why not have our own chatbox?

@1) Add a rating system for PotDs.: No. Absolutely not. The PoTD discussion thread is just for that: discussion. Adding a polling system will ensure that people who are too coward or too scared to express their thoughts will just give a vote. Nonetheless, less discussion will happen on the thread since they'll just click a button 1-10. Also, such a poll will be hurtful to the PoTD submitter as well as discourage them to submit another PoTD in the future. It can be done, quite EASILY. But I will not allow it to happen, sorry.

@6) Allow forum users to give themselves titles, I don't exactly like being called a Casual Reader. I want the title of my Tibia character, Erdge, put in that spot instead: Mexican \Gangsta. I agree with Subaru-sama. You can indentify eachother with your avatars, and signatures for that matter...

@How about an arcade? <3 I don't see this as a necessity, go play in the Tavern if you wanna fool around...
@Chatbox / Shoutout box! I think this sort of defeats the purpose of a forum, doesn't it? Stick to gabbly..

An arcade is for forums that are forums just to be forums. I personally don't like the idea of having an arcade in TibiaNews.

It's not somehting you enable on the forum. It works for every link in FireFox. All you do is hold CTRL and press the left mouse button. If it's not working, you ahve to check your properties for FireFox.

You could also do what I do... if you have a scrolling button on your mouse, click on the link with it, it works for me.

Then I guess it has something to do with my IE. The old forum was pretty slow when I used Firefox at home. But now I'll start using firefox then
