A Letter To/From the Editor

Hi everyone,

At TibiaNews, it is our duty to try and stay in contact with our community. We now introduce you to a new section of our shortnews: A Letter From the Editor.

It's official - the voice of TibiaNews readers has been spoken, again! The section that is favored most by our readers is the Picture of The Day. Because of this, we will update it consistently and daily to fit your needs. Of course, in order to help us achieve this goal, if you would like to submit your own PoTD to be featured on our homepage, feel free to send an email to support@tibianews.net with the link of the picture (preferably uploaded to a known site), or even private messaging one of the staff on our boards! The section which ranked second and third, respectively, were the shortnews and interview sections. We have delivered you consistent shortnews daily, and will try to get our interview section going again soon. There is now a post on our forum asking for suggestions for players to interview, so if you have a suggestion, please post it!

We are still working on getting "Everybody Has A Story" up and running again, so stay tuned for that some time as well! We thank you for your time for reading TibiaNews, and hope you stick around for more exciting articles, shortnews, and updated content in our new sections, including TibiaScoop, Spot the Difference, CoW, Crosswords, and Shorts! Of course, you can always propose new sections in our forums, here! We will constantly read the thread and try to modify, adjust, or even add your idea to our site if deemed appropriate.

In case you also have not read yet, we are preparing for our seventh birthday coming April 18th. We couldn't help but hold an exciting contest with great prizes to give away! We encourage all players to participate and join the celebration! We are looking forward to spending this seventh year anniversary with all of you, as well as many more years to come.

We will try to post these letters every few weeks to let you all know where the status of the website is, our progress, and any new ideas that we have to make it more beneficial and easier for you. We have already changed the site in many ways throughout the past month, and we will strive to do so in order for a better TibiaNews.

Please use this thread to post any letters you have TO the editor, which will be answered in shortnews form when the next update comes. Keep in mind all questions/letters may not be answered.

Alternatively, you can email support@tibianews.net with any questions you have for our team. In the title, you can put "Question for the Editor" so we know what it's for.

You can also post your ideas about this new section, ways to improve it, and any modifications that you see fit for it in order for this to work.

Dear TibiaNews readers,

As you may have read in our tweet earlier today, we are giving over 1000%, just for you. What's that mean exactly? Well, TibiaNews has seen a 1051% increase (as of March 28th) in articles and content in three months relative to the preceding nine months. I can honestly not express my happiness when finding this out and looking into it. We have also beat our last month's views by hundreds already, and still another day left of March to go. We are working our way to becoming more and more like a newspaper, with a new introduction of a fashion section, Tibian Vogue. In the past month(s), we have undergone a lot of layout changes in order to make the site look more organized and to try and get our top content out there - for you. This is no easy task, and of course does not take over night, and will be a matter of trial and error. We will try to do small steps of moving sections and content around before anything "major." We have also taken a deeper look into our viewers and where they are coming from, and decided to make TibiaNews multilingual (or somewhat as of now!) With Brazil being the second ranking country of our visitors, we have recruited many Portuguese translators already, following Spanish translators as well as Polish and even Dutch. We are still accepting applications today for translators, so if you are interested, take a look at our applications board.

Another small change that you may notice on our forums is the change of our tagline. We are no longer going to go with the tagline, "we are back; reborn; etc." This is not a short-term sprint for TibiaNews as has happened in the past. The change in management has given birth to a long-term focus for your favorite Tibian newspaper. We are committed to providing daily content and constantly improving the site in order to best address the desires of our loyal viewers. We have re-opened our TibiaNews Suggestions and Contribution board to show this, and even made it accesible to guests (to which it was not before). Alternatively, we still have our other proposal thread still open as well. So, if you have any ideas, of course remember: we always keep an open mind while reading your proposals.

Last but not least, I cannot wait for our seventh birthday celebration with all of you. Here's to you, our readers, for making us where we are today, and for helping us rebuild a community back to its roots.
