No, your toaster can be permanently broken and although it can be fixed it would take almost all new parts, and the "soul" of the toaster is lost :'[

Okay serious answer... it's like when you squash a bug, it's dead and it isn't going to heaven or stuff, it just ceased existing.

Well.. to be precise the bug still exists until worms have eaten it but before that it's just squashed and it doesn't have life so it can't move or think etc.
