i played crysis on high with 2x2,4ghz intel core 2 duo 4gb ram 8600M GS in a freaking laptop and had no lag.

I'm guessing you had a pretty low resolution though.

had my default laptop resolution, 1440x900
i am amazed how good crysis engine acutally is, since whne it comes to farcry 2 i had to set everything on low to have no lags. crysis is simply very well optimized, not many games nowadays are though. however since graphics are one of the last things i care in games (first is gameplay) this is enough for me, all i need is to be able to run it, which i cant do on my old desktop (1,4ghz 800mb ram 7300 GT)

I actually have a problem, they stopped selling that special packet and now I gotta fix all the specs myself. I can't really remember everything but my friend has an almost identical computer and he will send me his specs.

I actually have a problem, they stopped selling that special packet and now I gotta fix all the specs myself. I can't really remember everything but my friend has an almost identical computer and he will send me his specs.

i can play crysis on low/medium with my pc:
dual core 2.2ghz
1gb ram
HD3650 video card

and thats worse specs then the laptop of stradas, so no worries

Right, 'cause I'm running it on a 2.88GHz Quad core, in 1920x1200 resolution; 4GB Ram, and even though it doesn't lag at all (I play high, or maybe they call it ultra high) I'd think a laptop (even with pretty decent specs) would have trouble running it in a high resolution, but then.. 1280x1024 isn't actually a lot (it'd be a pain on my 24" screen).

i would like to play at a bigger resolution, but i got a 19" but then i possibly have to play it on low

when you got 17" you don't really go beyond 1440x900 anyway. laptops aint big you know.
and my desktop is an oldie. 1,4ghz 800mb ram 7300gt with, also, 17" monitor, so no gaming on that one.

I am a big movie fan, and Blu-ray is definately going to be taking over, just as DVD did to VHS.

You know Blu-ray has been here for quite a while. If it was to be like DVD taking over VHS, it would have been way more Blu-ray related things sold.

There aren't many Blu-Ray players out there at the moment, wait for the prices to come down which they are doing now, and we will see it boom, just like the DVD...

OK, first off a TibiaNews password is not worth anything.
Second, are you actually denying that there are more and more films, shows, dramas etc being released on Blu-Ray? Are you denying that people are always searching for better quality picture, sound, effects etc? Go to HMV or whatever big video store you have where you live, and look at their Blu-Ray section compared to about 6 months ago. Then check the prices.

Let's get this straight: I am saying, not denying since it's not a fact, that the blue-ray "era" will not be as a large advancment from DVD as DVD was from VHS and that there will never be a Blue-ray "explosion" as large or even close to the DVD "explosion".

Hmmm... Sony WALKMANS are the best music players. Their sound quality cannot be matched. However if you want to go for a "cool" image rather then quality then an iPod would be best. If you are a music enthusiast then you will realise that WALKMANS are the way forward.
If you don't beleive me, go to a website such as Amazon or another online shopping site where you can read reviews regarding the products and have a read through peoples response to the WALKMANS. If you can, borrows someones and test it out, give it a wide range of music genres and blast it as loud as you want. Then tell me they are overpriced.

Also, they arn't overpriced, I own one and it is 16GB MP4 player with unmatchable sound quality and it cost less then an iPod. It cost me a little over £100, maybe £105ish I can't remember. An iPod at that price would get me half the size, MP3 and much poorer sound quality.

well they are overpriced in my country then, cause you can get others 2x cheaper with same specifications. I also look for quality, and i find it in creative zen, which works for me very fine now. most of the players has similar sound quality, its the headphones that makes the difference. Sony is good at headphones. But it may nto apply to you, but it applies to me, and are you willing to pay double for "so much" better quality? No, quality difference isnt THAT big.

But DVD took way less time then Blu-ray. Blu-ray "upgrades" the DVD, slightly, while the DVD was revolutionising technology.

yes, it will ,eventually, replace dvd, however i do not believe it will happen soon. we as race seek perfection, but being perfect in one side while totally denying other is not like humans do, and a lot of them still choose other things over blue-ray price. nad yet again, a lot of people dont have big enough screens to actually see the difference, so thats a stopper right there. yes, new kids and new generation will seek into technology, but that will take years. as for companies, there are a lot of conservative ones too, that only updates when they have to.
I agree that blue ray is better than dvd, i agree that it will take over, i do not agree that it will happen soon nor in a scale dvd too over vhs.

I wouldn't be surprised that a real new technology would arrive and sell out so much it would waste both blu-ray and DVD, but blu-ray won't do that.
