READ - Mac users

I have managed to get Tibia to run on my mac OS X 10.5 without having to install Windows or use coss-over and alike which i find runs slow. This time it works, no lag.
It does look like this however... http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w131 ... ure1-5.png
You need to download X11 which is part of XCode (and also Xcode if you dont have it) i think from Mac Developer, you just need to register an email address i think then you can download them. Can't remeber how i registered tho
XCode - http://developer.apple.com/technologies/xcode.html
X11 - http://developer.apple.com/opensource/t ... ngx11.html (just have to install it)
I found a pre-packed version of Wine (http://www.winehq.org/) here - http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/

All you have to do is download Tibia.exe and then open it with Wine.

-Select the second option to create a mac app
-Click install
- Put it in Documents and name it Tibia
-Go through install wizard (make sure you pick no start menu folder and no desktop icon)
-Click ok
-Find Tibia app
-Click to run

This is an odd first post, but it does look legitimate.

I find it difficult to believe that emulating Tibia through Wine gives better performance than running it through CrossOver or a Windows partition. On my MacBook (no discrete graphics card), I've only managed to get garbled graphics (far worse than yours) and an unplayable frame rate when attempting to run Tibia through Wine. On the other hand, I've gotten clear graphics running Tibia "natively" on a couple Linux and Windows virtual systems in VirtualBox, and even a playable framerate on a Windows XP virtual system. Perhaps it would run better with a discrete video card, but I don't think the claim that using Wine on its own is better than CrossOver or Windows (except in price!) CrossOver uses Wine and some customizations/optimizations to improve performance above what Wine offers by default.

With Xcode is there any way to download it in a version that is compatible with an older operating system than Snow Leopard? I managed to get to the bit on the apple website to download it, but the readme document said it wasn't compatible with my mac.

You might have to do a bit of research to find the most recent compatible version, but you can find old releases of Xcode at http://connect.apple.com and go to the sidebar and select developer tools. You'll need an Apple ID, which I assume you have if you're running Mac OS X.
