TibiaNews is turning seven years old in almost a month, and we need your help to celebrate! In order to do this, we are holding one of the biggest contests ever known to TibiaNews ever! The contest starts right now, today - and ends on April 14th, just in time for us to announce the winners on our seventh birthday, April 18th! So, if you're a poet, a news reporter, or an artist, then read on - this contest is surely for you!
Contest I
Poetry Contest 2011, TibiaNews Style!
One thing that we can all remember from back in the Excessus days ... he hated poetry! So, ironically enough, let's celebrate our birthday with a poetry contest!
Poetry is something people look at and when they turn their head in sheer awe, then you know you have done well. The topic of the poem will be about the towns in Tibia. You can pick one, mention all of them, whatever you prefer!
Everyone will have around a month time-frame to get these in!
FAQ:
Why cities and towns?
Almost every Tibian has chosen one or two cities to call their own, whether they're a noble Edron citizen, a humble Rookgaardian, or a demented Carlin PKer. This is a chance for all of you to put in words your love, or dislike for cities across the Tibian continent.
Timeline?
Inspiration strikes at the strangest of times, which is why we couldn't possibly have an "active" range of anything less than three weeks, giving plenty of time for you to perfect your poems, or inactive people to come back, see the shortnews/contest section and get to work!
Restrictions?
As far as restrictions go, we would only suggest that the topic must be apparent, the city (or cities) must be well defined in the poem. Your poem must be at least 8 lines/40 words (minimum).
Each poem must have a title, even if it's simply the name of the town or city of which it is about. You are only allowed to submit one entry per account/person. If you are found out submitting more than one, you will be disqualified from the contest.
Poems must be in English, only.

Grading
Each poem will be graded on a scale of 1-10 in each class: Voice, Word Choice, Flow, and most importantly - Originality. So, the maximum score for a poem would be 50.

Contest II
News Report Contest!
For those of you who lack the ability to write poetry, we decided to give an alternative! Since we are after all, here for the Tibian news, now it's your turn to do the news!
This contest is rather simple. It will be your task to create a 2-4 minute movie on something currently happening on your server. Please keep in mind, it will have to be in the form of a news report. ie. CNN, FoxNews, BBC, etc. explaining what is happening and going on. You will also have to act as an anchorman/woman, explaining and elaborating on the news.
Videos must be hosted on youtube in order to view. Please post the link in the appropriate thread labeled "Post your videos here!" in order to be graded accordingly.
As the other contest, this will be rated out of 50. The categories from a 1-10 ratio will be graded on, again: Voice, Word Choice, Flow, and most importantly-Originality.

Contest III
Drawing Contest!
Oh my god! There's just not enough choices this time around! For those who don't want to do the news report, and can't write, but can DRAW, this contest section is for you!
Just like the other contests, this one will also be graded x/50. This time, 25 for originality, and 25 for drawing technique. The subject matter to draw for will be Tibian Legends/Tibian Myths.
Prize:
-Tome (color of choice)

All entries must be submitted in the thread "Submit Your Artwork here!" The subject that you all must draw for this contest will be Tibian Legends/Tibian Myths.

Contest IV
Oh, we almost forgot! -
Since each of them have the same gradescale (x/50), there will be a grand prize at the end! This is not a real contest, but another contest overshadowing the others. The winner of the winners will receive a GRAND PRIZE!

-1st Place out of everyone: Gold Warrior Trophy + Medal of Honour
-2nd Place out of everyone: Silver Warrior Trophy
-3rd Place out of everyone: Bronze Warrior Trophy
General Disclaimers, Rules, Deadlines, etc.
While we will value efforts across multiple categories through the grand prize, entrants will only be allowed to win the prizes for one individual category. Should someone win first place in more than one category, they will be asked to choose which of the categories they would like to receive a reward for. The prize they do not select will be granted to second place in that category.
You are limited to one entry per category. This gives you (in total) a chance to submit up to three entries.
All entries must be submitted by the end of the day (in EDT) on April 14th, 2011. Please post your character name and world on your entries.
All Tibia Rules apply to all of these contests. We strongly encourage everyone to be original, those who steal other people's ideas will be eliminated immediately.
