Flash Client: Player feedback

Postby Thuddy » Tue Mar 22, 2011 2:08 pm

Hi everyone!

Here you can discuss your ideas about the flash client, be it good or bad! You can constructively say what you'd prefer it to have, what it's missing, or anything that you actually really love about it (ie. you being able to play on your MacBook Air)... ;)

Any constructive feedback is of course welcome, and we will be sure to make note of it and perhaps post it in our test server diaries in the upcoming days!

Cheers!

I actually kind of hate the flash client. It is just clunky and its frustrating having my screen forced to be so small. . . I am not pleased with it right now in its current state.

I just hope beta will be beta and by the time the real thing comes out i hope it is fun

p.s im about to test the game on my slow pc. . . wish me luck

On the first day of testing it made me sad that I will have to quit when they finally replace it. There's always hope but not much. I can come online for chatting, but I love to hunt and I won't be able to do that.

Yesterday someone with a celeron 2,2GHz asked in Harmonia's English Chat about the fash client and when I answered there, all of those idiotic kids with the newest comps started to make stupid remarks. That is very annoying. I know a lot of people have fast computers and often even more than one at the same time. Most of the testers are online on flash client, normal tibia and 3 other games. Yes yes. But there are still people out there with slow comps that maybe only play Tibia, because Tibia still runs on their machines. Having a slow comp doesn't mean that they don't get premmy. Just for the record, because this annoys me in every internet community, even Wikipedia, somehow some very loud people seem to think that the value of a person is negative or positive correlated with processor speed. This is not the case.

Well after some weeks in which I didn't log in to dodge the flash client, I logged in yesterday on Magera and people didn't like the lash client. They were making jokes in help channel about the update. That made me feel better. Today I even found the courage to log in on Harmonia, where I am in a guild full of tutors. Tutors are fans. Usually they love everything cipsoft does, no matter if it makes sense or not. "It's not a bug it's a feature." Or maybe all the tutors that are like that gather in my guild. I told them I would leave that guild and they told me I shouldn't. Then it turned out that of 5 members online (except myself) only 1 used the flash client. And yes it was a tutor, manasitting, not hunting. She said, people that tested the flash client may say they don't like it. (Thanks so much.) Next thing I wondered was, how CipSoft determines how many people use the flash client. My boyfriend said that the flash client sends a signal "hello i am a flash client" to the server and the C++ client sends a signal "hello I am a C++ client". Knowing CipSoft I wonder if that is true, or if they just think, who clicks on "join beta" uses the flash client. Usually they go for the easiest and cheapest solution. Dunno if I should ask about that on the official Tibia forums.

I have been playing around 8 years now(started on 7.0), and just finally made a tibianews account for the sole purpose of posting on this thread... IMO the flash client sucks... I like the action bars, the ability to set movement to aswd n set keys for diagonal movement... however tibia classic control is completely in operable i have played with classic control for 8 years and cannot stand havin to hold ctrl or alt to do almost every thing... not to mention the issues w hunting on the flash client n i have an xps that can run most modern games including crysis albiet on lower graphics setting... but this is tibia come on now it shouldnt need a new computer to run.... granted this is the beta version but they need alot more improvement before the full release the small screens lack of a skill window ( havin to open my char prof or settin one bar at the top is kind of annoying i like to moniter my stats esp. when training) and many more i hope they keep the stand alone for classic players such as myself or fix the many issues associated with the flash client or sadly i may not be playing much longer along w many other classic players i have spoken too :-\

LOL Luv Flash Client,

Now it definetly needs some work, like larger icons, the click and drag system needs to be tweaked.

First and foremost though they need to fix the map issue, I mean it;s gotta have some kinda physical folder so you don't lose it.

Honestly I think it's biggest issue is that it's just so much to take in at once and setting it up takes a lil while lol.

All in all I don't know if it will win the new "Client War" or if Flash ever will pk C++ but I do know it deserves to be given some time to see what it develops into before we condem it lol!

"Also IDEA for Screenshot of the Day" A char named Flashy Client pk'ing a guy named See Plusplus.
I know it would cause some controversy if nothing else lol.

Good discussion topic guys, keep it up ;)

I use classic controls, there was something different, but as far as I remember only one thing. Opening containers or such. Yesterday I met a guy on Magera who said he uses flash client at work to manasit. I know someone on Harmonia, who does the same. But I really don't know if Cip could see for what purpose people use the flash client. I asked the "manasit at work guy" what his boss says, and he answered, that he has fast hands. I work outside so I can't manasit at work. The guy on Magera said he used to work outside too and there he was playing TibiaME, that's a fan, that's addiction.

The client does send a recognition signal. thats why you cant login with, for example, older version of the game. and flash client are certainly having different signal. now wherther CIP cares about it is different thing.

and as i already said, flash is slow, and it shows now more than ever.

+ but I do know it deserves to be given some time to see what it develops into before we condem it lol!

its written in FLASH. all it deserves is eternal burning in flames of hell.

Not a fan. 'Clunky' is a pretty accurate description of the client. I don't have a particularly new computer, but it ran the old one perfectly well - now it's a chore to log in (at least using the beta). It's not very user-friendly either - even more lists, menus and thin spindly text.

I don't know how much they changed it ever since the private beta, but I didn't like it one bit. The only thing I would ever use it for is for hotkeys, and, well.. I don't even hotkey all of my spells. My PC is fried at the moment, so I wanted to see what improved on my laptop. I couldn't even log on, and eventually my Flash crashed. ._.

Can someone let me know if these are still a problem?
