Logged into the Flash client and it indeed does feel laggy, but at the same time performance issues are likely more due to Flash itself rather than Tibia.

For some background, Adobe Flash cannot run with multiple cores. It mainly operates on only just one core. If you have hardware acceleration, good for you as it should make the Flash client a little better, but I don't have a GPU to note any performance differences. I'm also not sure about how Tibia handles multi-core systems, but if and if the Tibia client handles it better than Flash, performance issues are going to be evident, but this has more to do with Flash than with Tibia.

If what I outlined above is true (I'm quite certain on the Flash half), then it is natural to note a decrease in performance on the Flash client versus a modern computer running the Tibia client. Of course, it is too early to hate on the Flash client still as performance wise, it could benefit from a means of toggling graphics quality and a decrease in the active scripts running in the background simultaneously.

Performance wise, it still feels clunky and lack smoothness. It is not exceptionally responsive (although I admire the programmers for getting right click control to work decently and effectively; Suck that, aviary!) but it is an alternative to the Tibia client.

I suppose the compromise is to bring the UI changes and updates from the Flash client to the Tibia one. Even though the Flash client is laggier and less responsive in general, I love the UI much more than the Tibia client.

Someone visited me today on Secura with a new character only to tell me that the flash client is not good (to say it politely). He has a good computer, so the problem is not his computer. And he noticed the same problems I noticed on closed beta, which made me wonder if they improved it at all. Dragging items takes ages for him but he gets some kind of animation, the mousepointer turns into something and the icon gets deformed. Just like it was for me on closed beta. He said he couldn't hunt with that client and that customizing it is not userfriendly. He asked me how to customize it and I couldn't help him much, because I was on C++ client for obvious reasons. He also complained about the way his backpack is opened. But said that wasn't an important flaw.

What really bothers me when using the flash client are the many buttons.... I can't even remember sometimes which one exactly it is to open my VIP list for example so I click quite a bunch before I get it open and when I finally do, my client got all messed up because I already opened/closed my inventory, backpack, etc. - I really don't think it is user friendly!

haha cool cool
Found some very interesting stuff here that I didn't know about the client :D

Well for me I'll still keep playing in the current one. I have a monitor is 15 inches and the game windows looks very small. Even if I minimize some hotkeys, this and that it will still look pretty small. At least smaller than the .exe one :(

I will probably buy a new monitor, thinking in a 22 inches one. But then I will need another GB(or couple of GB) of RAM and another video card cuz even thow the one I have is still good (I RAN ASSASSIN'S CREED BROTHERHOOD P.E.R.F.E.C.T.L.Y without lagging) it's kinda obsolete.

And this is what I have!

whne it comes to flash its your cpu thats holding it probably, and theres nothing you can doa bout it since flash and multicore doesnt work together. you have 2 gb of ram, with a single core processor its more than enough. your graphic card use its own ram (of which it has 512 mb, most times more than enough) so it doesnt eat main ram either.
if you cant run tibia normally them they really messed up.

The flash client uses the normal RAM not the RAM of the graphics card.

Ah yes, that might be a speciality of the Tibia flash client, after all it is quite ... bulky.

So I guess I'm set then. Well imagine if Tibia would consume 1 GB of RAM - lol - I think I would quit haha!
And yeah, I didn't know that flash client didn't eat my RAM from gcard.
Btw, do you guys think I should get a bigger monitor to have a better playability? or with my 15 inch I'll be fine? xD

if it eats graphic card ram then its good, its doing what any graphic engine SHOULD do. sadly we often see graphic card ram being almsot idle while all graphic processing happesn in normal ram. we have the idiot who though of graphic cards that sue normal ram as thier own to thank for this fashion.
you can zoom in to make the client bigger. also 15" monitor is pretty small for anything and if getting bigger is a option i would go with that.

I used Firefox and couldn't zoom in. I used f11 to have fullscreen. IE didn't give me the correct keyboard layout I think.
